Here are some past comments - unedited from emails we've been sent. If you run a game, please give us your comments too! We organised this one at very short notice (two days) so it was a "little leap of faith" that we purchased your game...and we're so glad we did! A great night was had by all and it made my girlfriend's 30th so much more memorable than just "drink and nibbles" at home or a night down the pub! The costumes people came up with were funnier because they had to improvise at short notice (normally using everyday household items and other people's clothing!!! Everybody entered into the spirit of the game with great characterisati0n and I can't remember a party where everybody spoke to everybody for so long!!! We kept the game to two hours - we served dips to start, a small buffet for main and a chocolate fondue after the game for dessert. Some people were so intop the game they forgot too eat!!! Thanks again for a great night...another will be planned in the future! N & R, UK Of our 14 guests, only myself and my husband had ever taken part in a murder Well, our Last Gasp went
off without a hitch! We all had a great time! We ended up with 20 people. It was
wonderful to have all the info and props we needed from you. Some people were a
little sceptical about coming, but once they got into it they had a fun time.
The people who had to perform for us at the end all got together in the church
kitchen and nursery room gathering up all kinds of noise makers and did a group
"humming" rendition of Auld Lang Syne with crashing kettle covers and
baby rattles. It was great. Thanks - we'll be back! I ordered 'The Auction' to run as a birthday event to celebrate my wife's 50th. The evening, which was run in our home around a finger buffet, was an outstanding event. As with any group of people - we had 35 guests,- there are bound to be one or two who throw themselves whole heatedly into character, and the others follow. They may have started off in a reserved fashion but when the 'principles' started to perform they joined in giving real depth to the character they were cast as. We had one correct accusation and one very rich drug dealer at the end. All agreed the event was different from the normal 'birthday party' and that there were some very clever, if not also very devious, individuals who put the event together. The evening was a new experience for all of
us and provided a social and entertaining vehicle allowing our friends from varied and different spheres to meet
and enjoy themselves. Thank you. We played Farthingay Manor last Saturday with a cast that ranged in age from their early 20's to their early 80's. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the game, and it was amazing how well each got into character. The twists and surprises along the way kept things going nicely. If I were to do it over again, the only thing I would change would be to leave dinner until after, so everyone could concentrate on the game! Who needs food when you're having a good time? I just hosted my daughter's 14th birthday party. We did the mystery "The Final Curtain". We had 12 people and they had a blast. The party was over dinner and lasted about 2 hours. These teenagers took to the task of looking for clues, talking and scheming. It was a riot. They all dressed the part and acted the character. One guest even guessed the answer with motive and the right clues. Here are some of their comments: Just to let you know, the party was FABULOUS!!! Everyone was so excited they
all either rented costumes or made them. Everyone looked great and had the best
time ever. We had a very original solution by one of our groups, it was
excellent, not correct but amazing how they came up with what they did. A couple
of other groups guessed the right answer. Whoever created this did an excellent
job, we will definitely purchase another one in the future. Just to let you know that the party went very well. I was very anxious at We got your "Auction" murder mystery back in December and ran it on
New Years Eve to an overwhelming success. Our guests are begging for another.
My wife and I had a fabulous time on New Years Eve playing "The
Auction" with eighteen of our friends. Everybody really got into their
charactors and some of our guests were quite sinister, scary really!
The game was great fun...thanks! "We all had a great time. If you write another story let me know" "What a wonderful evening!!!" "We had about 25 people at the party & it was a wonderful success.
Just wanted to let you know what a great time everyone had." We ran the auction at our home about a month ago and had a great time. We had
35 guests and many dressed the part. We have a suggestion for others running the
party. Since I played the lawyer and my wife played the detective, we were both
key characters in the story. After the fact we think one of us should have taken
a lesser role so we could spend most of our time as host of the party. If you
write another story let me know and we may try another party. I recently attended 'The Auction' murder mystery which was arranged by a
friend of mine. What a wonderful evening!!! Last fall my wife & I bought & held the murder mystery, "The
Auction." We had about 25 people at the party & it was a wonderful
success. Just wanted to let you know what a great time everyone had. I just wanted to drop you a line and thank you for a great party! Everyone
really enjoyed it--the majority even rented costumes! So it was a great night
had by all! Thanks again--it couldn't have run more smoothly, short of you all
flying over here and doing it yourself! Dear MMM Team, Excellent evening, considering it was all done at the last minute, and gave
us all something to think about rather than work. Everybody seemed to be keen to
solve the clues rather than eating their Xmas meal. I would not hesitate to
consider contacting you again in the future. The evening was a great success. The most unusual solution was that George
offed himself. It was good fun. We started at 7:00pm and went to 10:30pm. The players
really got into their roles and I believe that made a big difference. And the
fact that I read everything eant I was able to prompt situations, and encourage
participation. So, thanks a bunch. I don't know how I can top this next year.... Letting you know that the game went down a storm. Everyone made a real effort
with the costume although Bernard Fry's dress 'as an expression of man's
oppression' was quite a novel one. Perhaps slightly less gin next time, and more
of us might actually guess the murderer! Thank You!!! I just wanted to let you know that I purchased the Auction, and
played the game with 14 others on New Years Eve and it was a huge sucess!!!
None of the people had ever played a murder myster game and it I look forward to using THE LAST GASP in March with a group of adults. I have
already used THE AUCTION (during July 1999) and people are still talking about
the marvelous fun time they had and sometimes refer to each The game was terrific and all went surprisingly well. The instructions were
clear and the evening was a complete success! Click here for details of the games on offer |
